COMBINED ROBOT MODE
Height: 24cm Width: 19cm

Superion is a combination of five Aerialbots, yet he's got one of the more unified Gestalt colour schemes. Since four of the five Aerialbots rely on red and white in their colour schemes, Superion's basically red and white. There's a splash of grey on Skydive but even then he has a red chest. There's also a fair bit of black on Air Raid, and to a lesser extent on Skydive and Silverbolt, as well as his head. He has gold eyes and antennae, as well as on his hips. His hands and feet are off-white, the groin plate is red.

His gun, which is also Silverbolt's gun, looks like a hero's gun. He has stocky shoulders and his limbs are all straight, giving him a "ready to save the Universe" stance. Basically, he looks like the Autobots' saviour! His arms swivel at the shoulders, which is standard for a Gestalt of this era.

The four small Aerialbots are all quite similar, and this actually helps Superion considerably. Aside from helping the colour scheme, all four work well as arms and legs, and the entire toy blends well. He's a somewhat lanky toy, which is partly due to the fact none of the limbs are big chunks of toys that some combiner teams have. It adds to the heroic look, though, adding to the impression of him standing at attention.

OVERALL

A mighty looking Gestalt with a good, unified, colour scheme, he's very noble looking, ready to save the day. Definitely a set worth getting, even if Silverbolt & Slingshot individually have weaknesses. Superion is prominent in both the cartoon and the comics, so G1 fans will likely want this toy regardless - 8.5/10
