Name: Overdrive
Series: Generation 1
Allegiance: Autobot
Function: Strategist
Alternate Mode: Ferrari
CAR MODE
Height: 2.5cm Length: 10cm Width: 4cm
A kind of small-looking red Ferrari. His wings (see attack mode) are partly visible in car mode. He shares tyres with the other Omnibots. There's a sticker on the front with an Autobot symbol, that's the only real splash of colour. He even has a clear windshield and open side windows.
I have to admit, Overdrive doesn't really grab me. It looks small, the windscreen and roof (similar to Prowl's in design) as very thin and look downright fragile. Mind you it's not that it's a _bad_ car mode, it's just not that exciting. The other thing working against him is the lack of finer details in some of the Diaclone-based cars.
TRANSFORMATION TO ATTACK MODE
Swing out the twin cannons at the front of the hood (you can see the panel under which they lie in the picture), fold out wings (black, triangular) from under doors. As I mentioned above, you can see part of them in car mode.
ATTACK MODE
Height: 2.5cm Length: 11cm Width: 7cm
The twins cannons at the front are cool (and can be deployed in robot mode), but the wings are lame. They're about as small as Tracks' but not as stable, and tend to droop on mine. They don't give the impression of being very useful in actually making the car fly, rather looking like they're they've been taped on the doors. Still, the attack mode is, in my opinion, the strong mode of this toy. The wings are small, but they look nice in combination with the front-mounted cannons - and the cannons are cool.
TRANSFORMATION TO ROBOT MODE (from car mode)
Flip out the rear to form legs (like Gears, but with feet), flip feet out from end of legs. fold arms out from side doors. Head transforms like Prowl's (windshield sits on his back. Oh yes, fold out the wings again.
ROBOT MODE
Height: 10.5cm Width: 10.5cm
The robot mode is red with black arms, black head & groin and silver thighs. Very lanky, this guy looks like he could play basketball (he has wings, maybe he can dunk?). He's actually as wide as he is tall, thanks to his wings. Note that in the picture on this page, which is from the mail-away catalogue, his red groin piece has not been folded up, as it should.
My least favourite Omnibot because of his car mode, but the wings don't really work in this mode, since they're upside down and on the _arms_ (we're talking mid-forearm). Still, it's not dreadful, it's just lanky and rather scrawny, and the worst of a fairly decent bunch. The best part about the robot mode is the fact you can deploy the twin cannons on the front of his chest (c8

OVERALL
It's okay. The cannon rack under the hood is cool. In my opinion he's the Omnibot least like a Diaclone sized Autobot car, because of his smallish looking car mode. I probably sound more critical of this toy than I actually am - I do like him, I just like the other Omnibots _more_. It probably doesn't help that he's the loosest of all three of mine. Still, it's a mail order only toy, which makes it at least semi rare, so it's probably worthwhile getting just for that fact. I'm hesistant to strongly recommend this guy, but I'd say that if you like Camshaft you should like him. And the attack mode is probably the best of the three Omnibots - if not for execution but for the ideas involved - 6/10
