Alternate Mode: N/A - Gestalt comprising Brawl, Blast Off, Onslaught, Vortex & Swindle.

COMBINED ROBOT MODE
Height: 25cm Width: 16cm

While the original has a pretty uniform colour scheme, this guy looks like a colour palette. the main torso is black and yellow, the limbs are bright blue, green, red and white, with some black and some purple bits. On top of all these is a purple camouflage theme. As you can imagine it's a pretty garish affair that breaks most of the rules of design pertaining to colour. The only constants are the black, purple and the camouflage. And the latter aren't good ideas anyway.

He's got a black head with red eyes and silver mouth, which in itself looks pretty good, I'll admit. It actually looks like an upgrade of Bruticus (even if the rest of him looks like a paint factory accident). He retains the armory of the original, Blast Off, Brawl and Vortex can all give him arm-mounted weapons. I prefer Brawl as an arm, for the fact that Bruticus gets a big swivelling cannon, with Vortex as the other arm with twin green cannons and a set of rotor blades on the other. I know a lot of people like Brawl as a leg because the turret forms a kneecap, but I think the arm cannon's better. But hey - it's your choice.

None of the components fail as limbs, although Swindle's a somewhat boring arm. Thanks to the big mighty chestplate and twin cannon's on his back, Onslaught makes a good main body as well. The only drawback is that Onslaught's arms point back. If Onslaught's shoulder joints get loose his arms fall forward and push the chestplate off. The chestplate on this version seems to clasp onto Onslaught's groin a lot firmer than the original, so this is far less of an issue than on the G1 version. His poseability includes the shoulder and the head, which turns right around.

VARIATIONS

None that I'm aware of, although the entire set is a recolour.

OVERALL

A bad colour scheme ruins what is otherwise a good set. Sure, Vortex and Blast Off aren't that bad by themselves, but the others are, and none are as nice as the originals. And the Combination is horrific. His chestplate is more stable than the original, though. Ignoring the colours (if you can, it's pretty bright), this is a good set, but I recommend the original in place of it - 4/10 as a set, since it really doesn't work as one.
