CAR MODE

Blowout's predominant plastic in this mode is a smoky transparent. So he's a transparent sports car that's either a Porsche or meant to resemble a Porsche. The plastic used is dark enough that he looks grey at a glance, although close inspection reveals otherwise. He's got silver painted windows and black tyres. He has chrome silver hubcaps painted onto his tyres.
The moulding detail's pretty good for a toy this size. Blowout has door seams, door handles, side mirrors, an engine grill behind the rear window, popup headlights, taillights, an indent at the back for a licence plate and even front indicators. All of this is on transparent plastic, so you can't really see it unless you look for it. Considering that painting these details would look downright awful and for a $4 toy the paint mask would have invariably been riddled with paint spills, I'm glad they left the details unpainted.
As with all Gobots, Blowout has front and rear axles, and can roll quite well, and is designed to fit into Hot Wheels tracks. That's about all for the play value, but for a $4 toy I'm not complaining.
One of the better Gobot moulds, although a transparent Porsche is a little odd. He looks reasonably good, although I'm not totally convinced the silver was the right choice for the windows.
TRANSFORMATION TO ROBOT MODE
Pretty simple. Pull down the rear to form the legs, fold down the hood to form the chest, pull out the arms.
ROBOT MODE

The smokey plastic isn't as prominent now. His chest and arms are smokey, his head and thighs black and his lower legs blue. His face is painted blue (the same shade as the legs). The facial paint is a little thick - it hides the details of his facial moulding. Oh, and his gun is transparent.
The combination of the smoky plastic, black and blue make this a very dark robot mode - especially for an Autobot (mind you, he's almost the same as Megatron, whom he's a repaint of). Additionally, his dark face with obscured detail gives him a dark look. In fact he looks darker than the shiny Megatron. Poseability is about what you'd expect of a Gobot - his shoulders rotate. It's not great, but for a $4 toy it's enough. The play value's in the car mode, anyway.
Very dark and sombre looking, but it's a good mould. The colours are bit boring here, but not bad.
VARIATIONS
None as such, but almost the same as Megatron, of whom he’s recolour.
OVERALL
A good Gobot mould, but Megatron and Hot Shot have better colour schemes. I recommend either of those two over Blowout, but by himself he's fairly good as Gobots go - 6/10
