Alternate Mode: Hovertank

A light grey lump with winglets on either side, Megatron has extensive black, including the hoverpods underneath. There's a black cannon on top, which features a dark red paint (also found on his wings). There's purple inside his cannon, including a single missile. The colours are typically Megatron, so even though this is a new alt mode, it still feels like him. Surprisingly for the Decepticon leader, there's no allegiance symbol here.
This is really more of a lump with a cannon than a floating tank. From what I understand, he's fairly accurate to the video game in which this figure is based, so I can forgive the ill-defined look to an extent. Anyway, there's no turret, rather a massive black cannon (which we all know is destined to end up on his forearm). The cannon is fixed, so he's more of a flying space cannon than a tank. There are some decent moulded details, although most of them are quite generic.
Play value is better than you'd expect of a Generations deluxe - which is a good thing given the vagaries of this mode. The hoverpods fold out to form twin treads. These treads don't anchor into place well, so they roll poorly despite small wheels, so they're more for display, but it's a nice option. The cannon fires well - Megatron's missile will easily cross the room. The trigger is a red panel which is easy to press by accident, since it's prominent on top, but once you get used to it being there it's not so bad - it's easy to press if not careful but doesn't fire unless properly pressed.
A decent vehicle mode despite being poorly defined, Megatron's hovertank mode is his weaker mode, but at least the play value is decent & the colours fit the character. The robot mode is the real story here, mind you.
TRANSFORMATION TO ROBOT MODE
Detach and set aside his cannon. Grasp and fold back the wings to form his legs, fold the wings themselves down as his feet & fold up the tailfins. Stand Megatron up, unclip the front of the tank, pivot to the left, clip onto his shoulder. Fold the hands out from within the mechanisms of the treads, fold the treads together to form his hands. Swing the shoulders out & down, rotate the forearms into position. Lift out his head, swing up the chest and back plates. Attach the cannon to either forearm - it's almost impossible to do this without firing the missile, since the trigger is right above the attachment point.

Typically Megatron in grey with red and black, this robot mode is based on grey with red on his chest, forearms and right shoulder The boots, hands, elbows and fusion cannon are black. There's a pale purple Decepticon logo on his chest while his face is silver with red eyes. The transparent purple missile tip is visible, and works as something of a lightpipe (something his eyes lack, despite a transparent block behind his head - the eyes are painted). It's a good colour scheme, which looks good and fits the modern colours of Megatron (more red than back in the 80s).
This is a very stocky, powerful, looking robot. Megatron has chunky boots and a sloped head (which diverges a fair bit from the typical buckethead). He looks like a War Within style of design - this robot clearly originated in a non-cartoon medium (he's too detailed for a cartoon) and there's no real alt mode constraints on the visual stylings here. The hands are in an open configuration - Megatron has no need for fistholes thanks to his fusion cannon. The arms are asymmetrical, with a "claw" on the left shoulder and the red on his right (along with the fusion cannon, in standard configuration).
Play value here centres around the weapon, as you'd expect. As mentioned, it can fit on either arm. The powerful missile launcher is available, again. The arm poseability is such that he can hold it "overarm" as we saw back in G1. The head turns and the neck is on a hinge, his waist is fixed. The shoulders swing lift out to the sides. His elbows are hinged in two directions and rotate in the other plan, which is what allows the fusion cannon overarm pose. His hips swing and lift out to the sides while the knees are hinged with rotators. The ankles are hinged in two directions while the wings as feet work well since they have out the back as ridiculously helpful heelspurs. The end result is great poseability - exceptional for a toy with no ball joints.
A great robot mode hindered only by a static waist and neutered lightpipe. The detailing & colours are on point, there's no doubt this is Megatron. The fusion cannon is very useful and the poseability is a joy. A great display piece.

While the vehicle mode is fairly ill-defined, by nature of what it is, it does a decent job of supporting an excellent robot mode, making this a good toy for the adult fans. There's enough play value for a kid's toy, but his abstract vehicle mode means you need an understanding of the fiction to "get" this toy. Recommended for fans of the Generations line, despite the conceptually weak vehicle mode - 7.5/10
