Series: Movie Tie-ins
Alternate Mode: Articulated Transport Truck
Height: 2cm Length: 8.5cm Width: 3cm
A long red transport struck, Overload is the type of truck which is specifically designed for carrying large payloads like trucks, cranes and such. He's almost entirely red save for six black tyres and a black cabin at the front on the left side. There's a silver Decepticon logo on top of the cabin, and the relatively small size of this cabin tells us that Overload is a huge truck. The colours are sparse but these sort of vehicles often tend to look very functional. They're usually grey or white, however, not red.
Overload has two sets of wheels at the front and one at the back, and while the front and rear pairs roll, the pair just behind the front pair are actually false, and are notably smaller. At least they;re painted, I suppose. The articulated joint between the truck-like part at the front and the giant tray at the back is actually fixed - there's just not much play value here.
A simple vehicle mode with little play value, but it's something different, which is nice. I personally like the choice of vehicle and while the execution isn't fantastic, it's not awful either.
TRANSFORMATION TO ROBOT MODE
Pivot the front down, split to form the legs. Stand Overload up, swing the sides of the tray out to form arms and swing down the forearms. The central strip of the tray will stick up on its own, fold it back slightly.
Height: 9cm (5.5 to the top of hsi head) Width: 7.5cm
Again mainly red, Overload has the black tyres on his hands and ankles along with some charcoal on his boots. His eyestrip is painted amber but there's not much of this - his face really does need more paint. The are no visible allegiance symbols on this sparse colour scheme.
A very short robot with long arms that almost reach the ground and giant crane arm floating above his head, Overload has no thighs and a short torso. While he's humanoid unlike some of his teammates, this bodyshape. He lacks true hands, which isn't unusual at this size. The crane arm is his defining feature, and it ends in a small red claw. The play value here is limited - his hips can lift out to the sides while his shoulders are ball jointed although the right side pops off easily.
A distinct robot mode defined by the crane arm about the head, Overload is interesting but needs more paint on his face, or some on the torso. The robot mode is creative but the lack of paint and poseability holds him back.
None that I'm aware of.
A decent figure but not one that shines in any aspect, Overload has an unusual vehicle mode and an artistic robot mode. While both modes have their flaws, the design is creative enough that Overload has some merit. Limited play value - even at this level - is my main complaint with Overload - 5.5/10
